Child Safety Standards
Last updated: September 11, 2026
These Child Safety Standards apply to SoKal: The Social Calendar ("SoKal"), the mobile app published on Google Play by JustCr8if and operated by JAMES B FLORENCE. They describe how we prohibit, prevent, detect, and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Our Commitment
SoKal has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). We prohibit it absolutely, in every part of our service, with no exceptions and regardless of intent, context, or claimed artistic, educational, or satirical purpose.
Prohibited Conduct
The following are strictly forbidden on SoKal. Engaging in any of them results in immediate and permanent termination of your account, and, where applicable, a report to law enforcement:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Creating, uploading, storing, sharing, requesting, soliciting, or linking to any image, video, or other material that depicts a minor in a sexually explicit or sexually suggestive manner.
- Sexualization of minors. Any content, text, or conduct that sexualizes a minor, including sexualized depictions of real, fictional, or computer-generated minors, and any material generated by artificial intelligence that depicts a minor in a sexualized manner.
- Grooming. Building a relationship or trust with a minor in order to sexually exploit or abuse them, including contacting a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion. Threatening or blackmailing a minor using real or claimed intimate imagery of them.
- Child trafficking. Advertising, facilitating, arranging, or otherwise participating in the trafficking of a minor for any purpose.
- Predatory behavior. Any attempt to meet, lure, or arrange contact with a minor for sexual purposes, including through events, invitations, or messages sent using SoKal.
- Facilitating access. Directing users to off-platform sources of CSAM, or using SoKal to coordinate, promote, or normalize any of the conduct above.
Minimum Age
SoKal is not intended for and may not be used by anyone under 13 years of age. In the European Economic Area the minimum age is 16, unless the country you are in sets a lower one, in which case that age applies; in the UK it is 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below the minimum age that applies to them, and if we learn that an account does, we disable it and delete the associated data. If you believe an underage account is using SoKal, contact us at the address in the "Child Safety Point of Contact" section below.
How We Prevent CSAE
- No anonymous or random matching. SoKal connects people who know each other. There is no random pairing, no anonymous chat, and no stranger-matching feature that would place a minor in contact with an unknown adult.
- Automated image moderation on every upload. Every photo uploaded to SoKal is automatically scanned for explicit and unsafe content before it is stored. Photos that fail this scan are rejected and never added to a shared album.
- Limited, member-only photo sharing. Photos shared in SoKal are visible only to the accepted members of that specific shared album, not to the public and not to search engines.
- Prohibition in our Terms. Our Terms of Service prohibit uploading content that depicts minors in any sexualized or exploitative context, and accounts that attempt it may be suspended or terminated.
- Account controls. Users can block any other user at any time, which removes the ability of that account to contact them or see their activity.
How to Report CSAE
SoKal provides an in-app mechanism for users to report content and accounts:
- Report a photo. Open any photo in a shared album and use the report action in the photo viewer. Reports go straight to our moderation queue for human review.
- Block a user. Open the user's profile and choose to block them. Blocking takes effect immediately.
- In-app feedback. Send us a report about any safety concern directly from the app's feedback form.
- Email us. Contact our child safety point of contact directly at team@sokal.app.
You do not need a SoKal account to report a child safety concern to us by email. Reports of suspected CSAE are prioritized above all other reports.
How We Respond to CSAM
When we receive a report of suspected CSAM, or our systems flag potential CSAM, we:
- Review it promptly. Suspected CSAE reports are escalated ahead of the standard moderation queue and reviewed by a human.
- Remove the content. Confirmed CSAM is removed from the service immediately so that no user can access it.
- Preserve the evidence. Confirmed material is moved to a restricted, access-controlled quarantine rather than deleted, so that it can be provided to NCMEC and law enforcement as required by law.
- Terminate the account. The uploading account is permanently terminated, and we take steps to prevent the account holder from returning.
- Report it to NCMEC. We report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org, and cooperate with law enforcement requests that follow.
Anyone may also report suspected child sexual exploitation directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or by calling 1-800-843-5678. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Compliance With Child Safety Laws
SoKal complies with all applicable child safety laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where it is available. This includes our reporting obligations to NCMEC under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and our obligations regarding the personal information of children under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and comparable laws elsewhere. We also comply with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.
Child Safety Point of Contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety matters, including inquiries from regulators, platforms, and law enforcement, is:
Child Safety Team, SoKal
team@sokal.app
We aim to acknowledge child safety reports within one business day.
Changes to These Standards
We may update these Child Safety Standards from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
